It is hard to classify the accommodation that Karin and Antonio offer. You may call it a boutique hotel, a farm stay, a bed & breakfast, a villa … or probably all of the above together. Most important, it is a very peaceful retreat of outstanding beauty and standard. When restoring this villa, the owners have proven great taste, attention and passion to all details.
Today, their accommodation boasts a successful blend of modern design and traditional elements, biological & biodynamic architecture as well as interior design merge with simplicity and the beauty of individual elements, family hospitality unites with professional management, spaciousness offers privacy although the farm stay invites to be part of the ongoing activities…
It goes without saying that the rooms are decorated exclusively with natural materials like solid wood floors treated with beeswax, the heating system is placed within the walls themselves to radiate a homogeneous feeling of warmth, beds consist of a solid wood frame treated with beeswax only, springs consist of a double layer of evaporated beech placed upon three latex elements that allow perfect adaptability, the mattress is a cotton futon, the pillows are made with millet, sheets are of natural fibres and blankets of pure wool.
The energy system is the fruit of a complex study that provides heat and electricity from natural and renewable resources such as sun and wood. Nevertheless, when the last light extinguishes, an electric current switch kills all electric current, thus eliminating the presence of any electromagnetic fields. A geobiologist has identified and measured electromagnetic fields, Hartmann’s knots and spaces have been subdivided and the beds are positioned accordingly.
The main building comprises of a ground level where the hosts live with their two sons, a first floor consisting of a double room (27 m2) with private bathroom and a suite (45 m2) and a second floor comprising of 2 suites of 45 m2 with en suite bathrooms.
A second building hosts the breakfast / dining room.
A third building offers an additional double-room with en suite bathroom on the ground floor and one double-room on the upper floor to those seeking even more privacy. The veranda of the ground-floor double-room faces away from the main building to enjoy an unspoiled view into the surrounding gardens with Montepulciano in the background.
Gardens & Farm
A 5 hectare farm embraces this lovely place and is cultivated with organic / biodynamic methods growing olive trees, saffron, wheat and grass.
After being abandoned for 8 years by its previous owner, the land is now given a much needed reestablishment period after which it shall host fruit trees, healing herbs and a stable for horses but most of all it shall be used for a research program on the regeneration of plants and seeds through biodynamic and homeopathic methods as described by Rudolf Steiner.
